Cadillac teaches the fundamentals of Upside-Down Pilates and introduces cadillac exercises. We will explore the use of breath, spinal articulation, pelvic and shoulder stability and mobility, head and cervical spine alignment, as well as focus and control through cadillac based exercises. The cadillac is a piece of equipment Joseph Pilates created using a bed, the bed posts, and bed springs to help rehab amputee patience during WWI.
Class Level Descriptions:
Level I: Cadillac I teaches the fundamentals of Upside-Down Pilates. This class explores the use of breath, spinal articulation, pelvic and shoulder stability and mobility, head and cervical spine alignment, as well as focus and control through Cadillac based exercises.
Level II: Cadillac II reviews the fundamentals of Upside-Down Pilates and focuses on shoulder mobility and stability as well as ankle, hip, and knee alignment, while increasing strength and flexibility throughout the body during Cadillac based exercises
Level III: Cadillac III challenges strength and flexibility along with introducing coordination through Cadillac based exercises. Must be attending class 2-3 days per week to participate.
Upside-Down Pilates Teachers have all learned Level IV, V & VI Cadillac exercises. We do not have Group Lessons for these levels but will use them in Solo Lessons at the teachers' discretion.
