Reformer Description:

Reformer teaches the fundamentals of Upside-Down Pilates and introduces reformer exercises. We will explore the use of breath, spinal articulation, pelvic and shoulder stability and mobility, head and cervical spine alignment, as well as focus and control through reformer based exercises. The reformer is a piece of equipment Joseph Pilates created to challenge dancers, gymnasts, and other athletes to gain strength, flexibility, and balance throughout the body. 

Class Level Descriptions:

Level I: Reformer I teaches the fundamentals of Upside-Down Pilates. This class explores the use of breath, spinal articulation, pelvic and shoulder stability and mobility, head and cervical spine alignment, as well as focus and control through Reformer based exercises. 

Level II: Reformer II reviews the fundamentals of Upside-Down Pilates and focuses on shoulder mobility and stability as well as ankle, hip, and knee alignment, while increasing strength and flexibility throughout the body during Reformer based exercises

Level III: Reformer III challenges strength and flexibility along with introducing coordination through Reformer based exercises.  Must be attending class 2-3 days per week to participate.

Upside-Down Pilates Teachers have all learned Level IV, V & VI Reformer exercises. We do not have Group Lessons for these levels but will use them in Solo Lessons at the teachers' discretion.
